Two aspects of artistic practice, sculpture and print, are brought together in this image. It shows the cast of a nine foot standing skeleton sculpture on the floor of the artist’s studio, returned in pieces from being cast at an iron foundry. The print is a departure for the artist in being a documentary image depicting a specific time and place. It records a process of arrangement and deconstruction and acknowledges the importance of work done in the studio. However by digitally manipulating the image an element of ambiguity and generality has also been added.
Kenny Hunter created a print for the Blueprint portfolio in 1997 and had a solo exhibition at the Print Studio in 2000 as well as exhibiting as part of the Unique and Original exhibition in 2011.
