40/40 is a suite of prints created in 2013 celebrating Glasgow Print Studio's 40 years in existence. 40 artists associated with Glasgow Print Studio were invited to make editions of 40 prints in whatever print medium they chose.

The uses of two distinct formal languages form a dialogue in this print. The first one is series of blurry and colourful spray dots. Those indistinct shapes are made in Photoshop, which give them a digital appearance. The second one is a hand made line drawing representing some flowers in a pot. The strong contrast between the artificiality of the colourful marks made on a computer and the hand made quality of the drawing form the personality of the print. It’s by transferring those two different techniques into screen print and merging them on top of each other, that they become together one specific image.
