Paul Cassidy was born in Scotland in 1970. He studied BA (Hons) in Fine Art Printmaking between 1987-1991, and later graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Fine Art in 1992, both at Glasgow School of Art.
Cassidy mainly uses screenprinting and mixed media to create his work, often with a pop art aesthetic. His mixed media pieces merge religious iconography and pop art subjects. Cassidy has had a long career in secondary education in Scotland, teaching art & design and photography, as well as school leadership roles.
Cassidy joined Glasgow Print Studio in 1992 following his studies, and has since then published publications, exhibited, served on the Board of Management and contributed to GPS’ educational programme.
