40/40 is a suite of prints created in 2013 celebrating Glasgow Print Studio's 40 years in existence. 40 artists associated with Glasgow Print Studio were invited to make editions of 40 prints in whatever print medium they chose.
Historically, Louise has worked from pre-existing found material, often painting on patterned furnishing fabric, maps, sheet music and other source material . Whilst the methodology of Materials bears a kinship to her previous work, in this piece, she explores different means of making repeated pattern by using an existing watercolour of her own, whose surface she has modified and transformed.
Louise Hopkins first produced an edition of digital prints with Glasgow Print Studio in the 2004 and has since exhibited work with the Print Studio in a number of shows including, Cool Britannia.
