40/40 is a suite of prints created in 2013 celebrating Glasgow Print Studio's 40 years in existence. 40 artists associated with Glasgow Print Studio were invited to make editions of 40 prints in whatever print medium they chose.
Bronwen’s interest in the built environment spans industrial architecture, lost spaces at the edge of the city and public spaces such as stations, airports and stadia. She translates these places by folding, twisting and abstracting them. Her work explores space rather than describing it, challenging perceptions of overlooked locations and presenting familiar places in an unfamiliar way. This etching is based on the new BBC building at Pacific Quay in Glasgow. Beginning by working from her own photographs of the space, she has continued to explore it through drawing.
Bronwen Sleigh began working in the Print Studio Gallery in 2002 and later became a screenprint tutor. She had a solo show in the Gallery in 2005 and was part of a three person show in 2012.
