Geometric patterns have long been a fascination for Rachel Duckhouse. This interest was developed through her 2012/3 residency in Calgary for the City’s Water and Park’s departments, during which she researched the movement of water within the city. Working with water engineers and specialists in fluid dynamics, she has produced a body of work which tells a story about water as an architectural form, revealing the hidden beauty and patterns in the flow of water. This etching is inspired by technical drawings of an exaggerated cross section of the Bow River in Calgary.
Rachel Duckhouse has been a regular workshop used since 2003 and exhibited with the Print Studio in a solo show in 2008 and a group show in 2012.
