Helen Fay lives in Northumbria, England, where she works as an artist-printmaker. Fay graduated from The Royal College of Art, London with a MA in Natural History Illustration, in 1992.
The subject matter of Fay’s work derives from a longstanding and passionate interest in natural history. Artistically, her impetus comes from creating a balance between a solid mass and the space in which it sits.
Fay's etchings go beyond the realms of natural history illustration; the composition, scale, skill and beauty of her work pushes them beyond any classification of etchings or natural history subjects, and they stand as a significant fine art statement which appeal to a wide range of collectors. Fay's many awards and exhibitions are a testament to her unique approach and talent.
