Dave Gibbons was born in 1949 in London, England. He is a renowned comic book artist, whose significant career has spanned over five decades. In the early years of his working life he contributed to the artworks of ‘Doctor Who Weekly’, however is most notable for his work across DC comics and the ‘Watchmen’ series. He co-created the series ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ with Mark Millar in 2012.
In 2015 Gibbons was part of the exhibition Comic Art: Millarworld and Beyond at Glasgow Print Studio, which featured artworks taken from collaborative titles written by Mark Millar and realised by a wide range of international artists including Gordon Parlov, Sean Murphy, Leinil Francis Yu, Frank Quitely and John Romita Jr.
