This print was created in conjunction with the Glasgow Print Studio 50th Anniversary Here & Now Legacy Project. "During the first lockdown in 2020 I decided to take the opportunity to study Milton’s 'Paradise Lost', which is an account of the creation story and the expulsion of Adam and Eve from Paradise. This led to my making a series of monoprints towards a show in July 2021 at the Glasgow Print Studio, 'Shadowfall'.

The images for this show were drawn from a series of photographs I took from our balcony of people exercising along the river Clyde at Finnieston, focussing particularly on the shadows that were cast, that memorably sunny May in 2020. I made a collage from several of the monoprints which became the basis for the digital image. The legend is screenprinted."

Jila Peacock was born in Iran 1948, Djallilah Pezeshgi. She studied medicine at London University from 1968 -1973, before graduating in painting at St Martin’s School of Art London with BA Hons in Painting/Film in 1984. Moving to Glasgow in 1990, she has been a part-time lecturer at the Glasgow School of Art from 1991 - 3, and a member of the Glasgow Print Studio since 1990.
