I was struck by this elegantly dressed poet holding a plough as a prop. It was reminiscent of “Farmer George” which was a nickname given to both George III and his enemy George Washington. There is also a touch of “The Noble Savage” in the elegant waistcoat that Burns was so famous for and its similarities in design to the breast plate of Native American Chieftains and Braves.
