We proceeded patiently in creating a series of paintings on trugrain, a transparent acetate with a textured surface, to develop some material and marks that she was pleased with .This complimented her beautiful linework and painterly washes.
I developed a special formula of paint to use for this in order to get the most range from her delicate marks which then allowed me to expose images on screens and proceed with the proofing process. This is an integral part of any edition as it allows artist and printer to start a journey of experimentation to towards a final proof together.
Elizabeth visited many times over a year familiarising herself with the delicate and transparent layering of this edition until we finally achieve the desired result.
This set the ground running for the large volume of screenprinted editions made with her over a number of years Glasgow Print Studio.
A truly rewarding and uplifting experience and a real joy to collaborate with. I hope you enjoy the print as much as I do!
