"'The Bone Clocks of Ghostwritten' is an abstract experiment that I developed from a print I made in 2019, based on the novel 'The Idiot' by Dostoevsky. It features a figure holding a Celestial globe, based on a stain glass depiction of the muse of Astronomy 'Urania' I saw at Mount Stewart, on the Isle of Bute. I drew many variations of the Celestial globe for the print; some of the shapes went on to become small abstract paintings I made during the first lockdown, which I later enlarged and screenprinted. I continued experimenting with the image and printed with silver on top of red and twisted it a 180 degrees, and it created something similar to the final print, which I then went on refining. The process was driven by play and experiments."
"The title 'The Bone Clocks of Ghostwritten' is a reference to two novels I have enjoyed by David Mitchell, the author not the comedian."
