This print was created in conjunction with the Glasgow Print Studio 50th Anniversary Here & Now Legacy Project. "This screen print takes a humorous approach towards animal portraits. The comic strip format lends itself to a big element of my visual language – storytelling. For this print I specifically wanted to give my subject human characteristics, in its smugness from doing something that might be seen as sly or wrong."

Shipei Wang was born in Beijing in 1993, and is a Chinese-Swedish artist. She studied MAFA Fine Art and MA Art History at the Edinburgh College of Art. Shipei's practice includes silk painting, printmaking and digital painting fabrication. Shipei received the Glasgow Print Studio Award from the RSA in 2019 and has been a member of GPS since.
