"I wanted to make a joyful picture. I love using the Glasgow Print Studio, and wanted to reflect this in the print. I have a bird feeder outside of my studio window, and I get to see a variety of birds visiting it. It was a great resource to me during lockdown. I invented an imaginary landscape with goldfinches. I hope it will create optimism, which is greatly needed in the world today.”
Damian Henry was born in Glasgow in 1969. He studied printmaking at Glasgow School of Art between 1995 and 1999. He enjoys depicting nature in the modern world, animals, reptiles and birds.
