40/40 is a suite of prints created in 2013 celebrating Glasgow Print Studio's 40 years in existence. 40 artists associated with Glasgow Print Studio were invited to make editions of 40 prints in whatever print medium they chose.
Exploring line, form and texture, Hetty’s screenprints are influenced by abstracted organic forms. The resonance of this print centres on the spatial relationship between elements, while the colours play a role in creating an impression of balance and harmony. The artist describes this print as evoking “the liberating spirit of the 1960s, with free-floating forms suspended like ideas open for exploration and with the potential to be reordered, creating something new and fresh.”
Hetty started making her work at the Glasgow Print Studio in 1998 and moved to Aberdeenshire in 2008.
