Claire Barclay: KINSKINS

1 August - 4 October 2025
Overview

Glasgow Print Studio presents KINSKINS, an installation of print works by Claire Barclay that accentuate our physical relationship with printed surfaces. By using the space of the gallery to present print on a larger scale, Barclay aims to remind us how we encounter print within daily life, sensorily as well as visually. The exhibition questions how we attach value to print in different forms.

Made in proximity to the print workshop one floor above, the works draw attention to the processes and rhythms involved in their making. Consciously and subconsciously objects and bodies emerge from improvised layering, cutting, masking, repetition that result in a fusing of shapes and emotions. Gestural marks and textures enhance a sense of aliveness and of interrelationships between these suggested forms.

2-D works in print are previewed here. Please note this exhibition will also include sculptural elements.
