The selection of exhibiting artists was made blind by each studio, with a common thematic approach found to emerge naturally. The artists' distinct visions are interrelated through this theme and employ a range of techniques that encompass monotype, etching, carborundum, mezzotint, mokuhanga and digital. Their practices are supported by this introduction to new audiences and the collaboration also fosters development of the relationship between the studios.

Glasgow Print Studio was founded in 1972 as an artist-led initiative providing accessible workshop facilities and later a gallery space for artists making original prints. Now, as an internationally acclaimed centre of excellence in fine art printmaking, GPS promotes contemporary and innovative printmaking and supports the development and expression of artists' practices. Its state-of-the-art workshop lies at the centre of its activities, which encompass publishing and exhibition programmes, print sales, courses and an archive.

Graphic Studio Dublin and its Gallery enable artists to create and exhibit work in the medium of fine art print. The studio was set up in 1960 and the gallery in 1988. They are the largest print studio and gallery dedicated to promoting fine art print in Ireland. They provide tangible assistance to artists through their original printmaking studio facility, exhibition schedule, private commissions, collaborative programming, visiting artist program, and courses.
