40/40 is a suite of prints created in 2013 celebrating Glasgow Print Studio's 40 years in existence. 40 artists associated with Glasgow Print Studio were invited to make editions of 40 prints in whatever print medium they chose.

Inspired by a trip to Italy, the idea behind this screenprint first formed in the artist’s mind in 1997. It refers to the traditional Italian Christmas story of La Befana, the old woman who delivers gifts to children on the eve of the Epiphany (January 6th). The image also links with a play of the same name written by the artist, which was commissioned by Òran Mór and debuted there in 2009. With music performed by the Scottish Philharmonic Orchestra the story is acted and narrated by Danielle Stewart (the heroine) and takes place in a magic realist setting.
Adrian Wiszniewski was first invited to make prints in 1985 and since then has made around 150 editions with the Print Studio.
