With the only boundaries being a simple shape; in this case a rectangle, Scott Campbell’s blended colour field screenprints push the boundaries of the screenprinting process. Playing with opacity and transparency, colour is built up intuitively and blended to form a radiant multi-layered surface on which light and form are suggested. While striving to create a perfect surface, the artist welcomes the tiny unpredictable elements which reveal that the image was created through a hand printed process.
Scott has worked as Master Screenprinter at the Print Studio since 2001 and had solo exhibitions in the Gallery in 2002, 2005 and 2010
