Jim Lambie was born in 1964 in Glasgow, Scotland. He is a contemporary visual artist, former Glasgow School of Art graduate and Turner Prize nominee in 2005, with an installation called Mental Oyster. His practice evolves from a response to the psychology of space and colour and is influenced by movements in art and the history of place.

Lambie exhibited as part of Prisms & Shadows in 2005, and used Glasgow Print Studio in 2012 to create a series of prints in collaboration with seminal punk musician and writer Richard Hell.
