Goran Parlov

Goran Parlov is a Croatian comic book artist, born in Pula, Croatia in 1967. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1991. He began drawing comics professionally in the 90s after moving to Italy. His significant works include 5 Ronin, Punisher MAX and Starlight with Mark Millar, from which the Rocket Man series of prints published by Glasgow Print Studio is taken. Starlight is the story of a retired Flash Gordon figure called upon to save the universe one last time. It’s been described as Millar’s most heartfelt storytelling to date, brought alive by Parlov’s distinctive, Moebius-esque art.

In 2015 Parlov was part of the exhibition Comic Art: Millarworld and Beyond at Glasgow Print Studio, which featured artworks taken from collaborative titles written by Mark Millar and realised by a wide range of international artists including Dave Gibbons, Sean Murphy, Leinil Francis Yu, Frank Quitely and John Romita Jr.
