Jacki Parry

Jacki Parry, RSA, was born in Australia in 1941. She studied for a Trained Secondary Teachers Certificate in Sculpture in Melbourne from 1959 to 1961, and she later studied at Glasgow School of Art where she gained a Diploma of Art (Printmaking) in 1974 and a Post Diploma (Printed Textiles) in 1975. She is an artist, printmaker, papermaker and a founding member of Glasgow Print Studio and the Paper Workshop, Glasgow.

 

It was while studying Printmaking at Glasgow School of Art she became involved with the group setting up Glasgow Print Studio in 1972. She did editioning work in the St. Vincent Crescent premises and has been a member of the studio continuously since that time. She was a part-time lecturer before becoming Head of Printmaking at Glasgow School of Art from 1991 to 2001.

 

Parry’s work is represented in prestigious collections, including The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh; The Hunterian, The University of Glasgow; The British Council, London and The National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C (Paper Conservation Collection).
